Instructors
Calvin Chin is the Chief Instructor and Master (Sifu) at Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy Inc. (CCMAA), founded in Newton in 1996. Master Chin was a black belt in Uechi Ryu before he started training in 1971 with the late Grand Master (GM) Kwong Tit Fu. Master Chin assisted GM Kwong in establishing the Academy of Chinese Martial Arts, formerly in Boston’s Chinatown, then in Cambridge, and became his top disciple. Master Chin was sanctioned to carry on the tradition of the Fu Hok Tai He Morn (FHTHM) system that GM Kwong founded.

Sifu Level Instructors
Master Chin's son, Drew, has been studying Kung Fu since CCMAA was opened, when he was 5 years old. He was part of a very strong performance team, performing and competing locally and nationally.
Mynor Diaz became a CCMAA student in 1998 and then assisted Sifu Kalaitzidis with an affiliate location before returning to the Newton Academy. Mynor assists with teaching Kung Fu, Tai Chi and Sparring.
Paul Ho is a Sifu in FHTHM. Having two sons who have graduated from the Performance Team, he is familiar with the competition circuit. Paul helps with Youth and Adult Kung Fu classes. He is part of the dragon dance team and is an instrumentalist for lion dance.
Sifu Kalaitzidis started his martial arts training in 1980 as a youth under the guidance of the late Grandmaster, Kwong Tit Fu. He was chief instructor for five years at an affiliate location and now teaches sparring at the Newton Academy.
Stephen Wing studied FHTHM for three years under the late Grandmaster Kwong Tit Fu. Under Master Calvin Chin, he studied FHTHM since 1999. He has taught at CCMAA since 2003.
Lucien Zoll began his martial arts training under GM Kwong Tit Fu in 1985. Later, he assisted Master Chin in opening Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy. Lucien coaches the Performance Team and is head instructor for Tai Chi Push Hands, Dragon Dance and Lion Dance.
Rob Elkind studied briefly under late Grandmaster Kwong Tit Fu, and joined CCMAA once it opened. Rob helps out with the Kung Fu and leads the Modern Tai Chi classes.
Other Instructors
Our other instructors assist at academy classes, seminars and on-site programs. They are long-term practitioners who have trained under the guidance of Kwong Tit Fu and or Calvin Chin. In our effort to provide the highest quality instruction, our instructors are continually trained by Calvin Chin in advanced martial arts technique and instructional format.
Irene Yao is a long term student of Grand master Calvin Chin and also the first woman to achieve the rank of Sifu at CCMAA! She assists with classes and performances and has competed as recently as November 2016 in China where she took Gold medals in all divisions she entered!
