The 8th annual Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation Fundraiser Show will be held at Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy in Newton at 66 Winchester Street 2nd floor ( above Boston Showcase). The Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation was founded in loving memory of Helen Gee Chin. The late wife of Master Calvin Chin of Calvin Chin's Martial Arts Academy was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and passed 5 short months later.
It was in an effort to make something positive out of this great loss that the Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation was founded. The foundation is designed to carry on the good work that Helen Gee Chin is no longer here to do. Specifically, the scholarship foundation awards college scholarships to students of Chinese Martial arts in the Newton/ Needham area, surrounding communities and from all over the United States. The scholarship Foundation has awarded $100,000. in College scholarships to 49 students in 17 states in the last 8 years! This years show will be held Saturday July 13th! In past years, the fundraiser show was held in Newton North's beautiful theater. 
This year the show will be held on location at Calvin Chin's Martial Academy 66 Winchester Street Newton MA 02461 Second floor above Boston Showcase! The reason for the venue change this year is that we want to also showcase the expansion/remodeling project at CCMAA. Taking more of the warehouse space from Boston Showcase, CCMAA has undertaken a remodeling project that includes new flooring, paint, lights and essentially doubling the physical size of the school which has been at this location for the last 23 years! We are very excited to show off the new almost 8,000. square foot space!
We have an amazing show that we are preparing that will include performance of traditional Kung Fu and Tai Chi, Modern Wushu, Lion Dance and more! There will also be a Silent Auction, Raffles and door prizes! All for a great cause! This is a free event and open to the public!
